Spring is in the Air!

I love spring weather!  The best part of this weather is sitting on the porch and swinging. Raleigh enjoyed taking a ride on the tractor with Grandpa.  I think it made Grandpa's night...he loves taking her on the tractor!  After her ride, daddy found a dandelion in the yard and tried teaching her to blow it.  She had more fun pulling it apart, but it was still cute!  Our next house will definitely have a porch and swing!!

Cute Pajamas!!

I couldn't resist taking some pictures of Raleigh in her pajamas tonight.  They definitely show off her cute, chubby legs.  While we tried to take her picture she managed to pull out her chicken and do the chicken dance.  She wouldn't stay still long enough to take a good picture so we ended up in her crib for the best picture.

Harbins Park

Tonight we went for a walk at the new Harbins Park and then let Raleigh play on the slide and swing.  She loves them both and didn't want to stop...she cried when we put her back in her stroller!  I'm sure we'll be making many more visits there this summer!

Ready to slide!

Get ready!

Here I come!

Nursing a BooBoo!

Raleigh managed to fall tonight and hit her head on a flower pot.  Of course the tears flowed quickly and we felt that it would be best to put some ice on it.  She didn't cry long, but she did have a red spot above her eye.  I'm sure this is just one of many to come!  Here we are nursing her head and booboo.  Don't you just love the thighs too?  Just want to squish them!

Three Amigos!

Today Raleigh and I took a trip to visit Rando, Amanda, Ryleigh, and Avery.  It was so neat to see Ryleigh and Avery together.  I don't think Raleigh knew what to think at first, but once she warmed up she had to check them out.  She was so cute when she would come over to "peek" at them.  Ryleigh and Avery didn't mind...they just kept on sleeping!  We wanted to get a picture of Raleigh and I with Ryleigh and Avery.  I first sat Raleigh on the couch and then I got Avery. When I walked over to the couch, Raleigh lifted her hands like she was going to get to hold him.  It was so sweet, but she had to settle for sitting next to them.  I can't wait until the fall when they will get to spend more time together!  It will be so much fun to see how their friendship develops. Praying for lifelong friendships just like Amanda and I!

Happy Easter!

Today we went to church to celebrate our risen Savior who's ALIVE!

Going to Church!

Raleigh was excited about her Easter basket this morning!  When she finally saw it she said "Ooooo" and then began pulling out all her books.  She then realized that there was a bunny in her basket also.  She pulled it out, pressed the button, and began doing her bunny hop!  Finally she found some jelly beans (thanks to daddy)!

After lunch Raleigh helped Lacy open her birthday gift (she celebrated her 16th birthday today)!  Then it was time for an Easter egg hunt!  Raleigh was joined by mommy, daddy, grandma, grandpa, Nana Pat, Granddaddy Jack, Nore, and Memaw.  At first she acted like she couldn't reach the eggs (she just didn't walk close enough to them).  Then once she got the hang of it she would pick them up, but would either throw them down or put them in her basket.  Her real Easter basket is too big for her to carry so we used a smaller one for the egg hunt.  Although we gave her a smaller basket, she still didn't carry it too much!  When she would pick up some eggs she would keep waving to Nore and one time she took off toward him to show off her eggs!  It was so nice to have him sit outside and enjoy seeing his great-granddaughter hunt eggs for the first time!  Overall, Raleigh found a lot of eggs.  Shhh...she didn't have anyone else hunting them!  It was a great time!

Baby Chickens!

We went to Todd and Cindy's house to celebrate Lacy's 16th birthday.  It just so happened that they had just gotten baby chickens in that week!  We took Raleigh over to the chicken houses to see some baby chickens...she loved them!  There was one that she went to pet, but squeezed its head instead.  We'll have to work on her being gentle with them.  :)

Wild Animal Safari

For Spring Break this year, Grandma and Grandpa wanted to take Raleigh to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, GA.  So on Thursday, April 9, 2009 we loaded up and headed on a safari! Raleigh did not nap any on the drive down and when we arrived there was a long line (we picked the warmest day out of the week!)  Grandpa stood in line to get us tickets and rent a van.  It's a good thing we picked him to get tickets for us because he loves to talk to anyone!  He met another couple and their little boy.  We ended up renting the van with them...they were actually from Lawrenceville!  We had to wait a little while for the van.  During this time Raleigh loved "running" back and forth between the picnic tables.

Hanging out and waiting!

Sitting with Grandma

Once our van was ready we set out for our safari adventure!  There were many "cows" that enjoyed coming up to the van and eating.  Raleigh quickly learned to tap the food on the side of the van to get the animals to come our way.  It was too cute!!  We had one buffalo that had the longest tongue ever!!!  He slobbered Raleigh's hand which produced a few tears, but she quickly went back to feeding him!  She loved seeing the animals and having some up close encounters!

This is the couple we shared a van with...Shawn, Shelly, and Michael White

Once our drive thru safari ended we headed to the walk-about safari!  In the walk-about, we saw some bears, pigs, peacocks, baboons, alligators, kangaroos, and several other animals.  Raleigh even turned into a bear and tiger (check out the pictures!)

Raleigh did a fabulous job to not have a nap.  However, when we got in the car and headed out, she was asleep before we were out of the parking lot!

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for a wonderful adventure!
