Vacation 2010...Going Home!

The last day. :(

We tried to get a few last pictures on the beach before we left, but the condensation on the camera prevented us from getting many so we gave up and left.
We decided to drive back to Jacksonville and have lunch at The Jacksonville Landing which is a big hangout for the UGA/Florida game. What better way to end a vacation than to get ready for football season in 1 week!!
We had a WONDERFUL vacation!!! Probably the most fun since Raleigh was born...guess it just gets better each year!

Vacation 2010...Day 9

Rain, rain, go away...come again once we're gone!!

So sad...it was overcast all day and that resulted in a few showers throughout the day. We were able to go to the beach this morning for a short time and then enjoyed the pool before the first shower came. We had left our chairs at the beach all week instead of carrying them up each day. Well, a little crab decided to make it's home under Raleigh's chair! We caught it and watched it for a short time, then we let it go happily into the ocean! Even though it was cool and cloudy, I decided I would lay out anyway since it was the last day to enjoy it...even the rain didn't send me in...I just moved under the tent and kept on reading. :)
Silly girl!!
New skill that she learned on vacation!!
This is the "take off the float" dance
We enjoyed dinner at Marina downtown and it was great (mostly locals so you know it's good)! And they had a treasure box for kids to get a prize when they left! I love the downtown area...cute shops (enjoyed Twisted Sisters...thanks Andrea for the recommendation and wanted to check out Twisted Kids, but it was closed) and some cute decorated shrimp (reminded me of the UGA's around Athens).

Vacation 2010...Day 8

This morning as we went to the beach we saw dolphins!!! For those of you that don't know, I LOVE dolphins (as soon as Discovery Cove opened, Jason and I went to swim with them...just love them)! There was just one at first and then there were at least 5 that I saw later. Usually it's just their fin that you see, but I actually got a shot of one with it's tail out of the water. I'm guessing there was a large school of fish in front of us or to the left since they seemed to be circling the area. I could have watched them all day, but they left.
A storm rolled in just as we were getting ready to head out to dinner
We of course had a great time again today and I'm getting a little sad to think that we only have one day left at the beach. :(

Vacation 2010...Day 7

Grandma and Papa left this morning to head back home. Now we only have 3 days left of vacation. :(

We spent the morning at the beach and pool. Lucky for me Jason doesn't mind napping with Raleigh and that allows me to have some time to myself by the beach!
I loved how pretty Raleigh's eyes looked when we were eating lunch, so I had to take a close up!
For dinner we headed to Sliders (thanks Mandy for the recommendation!!) and Raleigh was able to play on the playground there while we waited on our food and when she finished eating. It was great!!Then we headed over for putt-putt (our 3rd night trying to go). Raleigh of course didn't get the idea and would pick up her ball after she hit it and sometimes our ball! Overall it was a great night and lots of fun!

Vacation 2010...Day 6

Today it was just a pool day. Raleigh loves the pool as well. She doesn't like wearing floaties, but we put a ring on her and she did great with it. The cutest part was when she would take it off...she did a little twist dance and down the ring went!Tonight was picture night! We didn't have a professional this year so it was just up to us. I think they turned out great and Raleigh was a little poser for some!

Vacation 2010...Day 5

We enjoyed the beach again today. Raleigh loves the waves and sand! Jason and I tried to ride some waves in. I was able to ride a couple, but they weren't really big enough and they would never break at the right spot. After lunch we headed over to Little Talbot Island (thanks to some friends who recommended it). We didn't find anything too cool, but it was still neat!
Silly daddy!
Little Talbot Island
I love how Raleigh is following so closely behind Jason!
Well, Raleigh doesn't like her big girl bed anymore and has ended up sleeping in our bed with us now. I think she doesn't like being in a new place...she better not get use to it because she won't fit at home (guess that could be one reason to not get a king size bed).
