Sick Baby Girl!

Raleigh has once again developed croup. She began getting hoarse on Saturday, but we just thought it was a cold. When she woke up on Sunday morning she sounded like she was having difficulty breathing. We decided that we should take her to the Emergency Room. I'm glad we did because when we got there the nurse at the front desk did not like how she sounded and got us in quickly. They hooked her up to the monitor and listened to her. She was swollen around her vocal cords which caused her to sound the way she did. After a dose of steroids and two breathing treatments (that we had to wait two hours after each one before we could leave) we finally got to leave. She did not enjoy the breathing treatments at all! Luckily she slept for a short time and then once we got home she took a really good nap. Now we're just continuing on a steroid for three days and hopefully she'll be completely back to normal!

It's Official!

After a lot of looking and a lot of praying Jason and I have purchased some land in Auburn. It's in the neighborhood called The Cleft that was developed by some couples from church. We are excited about building in this extraordinary neighborhood. It's focused on being a community and we are thrilled to know that Raleigh (as well as any future children) will be able to develop great friendships and run around to play freely and safely within the neighborhood. Jason and I are also excited about the friendships that we will be able to build upon and those that will develop. The only down side is that we will have to wait several years before building. :( Looking forward to a wonderful future in The Cleft!

Sesame Street Live

Raleigh has developed a love for Sesame Street and has quickly picked up on the names of all the characters. Of course Elmo is her favorite character. We decided that we would take her to see Sesame Street Live: Elmo's Green Thumb. I was a little worried that she would be scared of the characters because she has not been a fan of the large dressed up characters (dinosaur, Monkey Joes, Chick-fil-A cow, etc.). Thankfully she LOVED them and was not at all scared of them. We decided to make it a special day all about Elmo. She carried Elmo with her the whole day and watched Elmo's Potty Time (wish it would have trained her!) On the way to Phillips Arena we enjoyed a classic...The Varsity! When we arrived a Phillips the stage was set up differently than what we thought. We had fantastic seats...floor seats, section one, and three rows back on the aisle! Once the show began Raleigh was wide eyed and loved every minute of it. During the intermission she started saying "where Elmo?" and then told me about all the characters that she had seen. During the second half of the show she was much more vocal calling out to the characters and waving to them. Once it was over she cried the whole way out of Phillips saying "Em-Mo!" I loved watching her and spending time with her doing something that she totally enjoyed!

Ready for the Flood!

When the rain first began last week, I pulled out Raleigh's raincoat. I'm glad she was able to get some use out of it the past week. Now if I can only find her some cute galoshes!!!

I really can't believe how much rain we've had and how close the floods were to home. We luckily live in a great area that wasn't flooded, but the other part of the county was not so lucky. Raleigh and I have enjoyed our week together since school was cancelled for the two days that I had to work! Our first "rain days!"

UGA Game!

Jason is the most wonderful husband and daddy that Raleigh and I could ever ask for...he bought us tickets to UGA's first home game of the year against South Carolina. (He's really great even when he doesn't buy us tickets to the game too!) The game didn't begin until 7:00 pm so I was really worried about taking Raleigh. This was going to be my first night game in Sanford Stadium and I did not want to leave early! We didn't arrive too early so we weren't waiting long. While we did wait Raleigh listened to the band play, got to sit in an empty seat next to us, searched for UGA, and ate her sandwich. The first half was a little rough for her...it was hot, we were holding her, she wanted to move around, etc. During the 2nd quarter we decided to walk around and get some of her energy out (this was after 8:00 because the first quarter was an hour long!!). We walked around half of the stadium and down to UGA's

doghouse. Well, the lovely GBI guys standing around the hedges did not want us to stand there so we walked back and forth at least 3 times. We just wanted to see UGA!! Finally they sat him on the cheerleaders stand and we got some great pictures of him. Once we walked back to our seats and got something to eat it was in the 3rd quarter. Luckily for us the guy that was sitting next to Jason had left and he moved over so Raleigh could have her own seat...she did so much better sitting alone! Raleigh was so funny copying everything that someone would yell...Go D, Go Dawgs, Get 'Em, etc. Well, Georgia almost lost it, but they held out and won 41-37! I'm glad that my winning streak did not end on this game! The game was extremely long, but Raleigh held out until the end and did not go to sleep until 12:20 am!!! We had a great time together as a family!!
