JV Lions

Robby, my nephew plays for Hebron's baseball team.  He plays on JV, but if Varsity has a game at the same time then he plays with them.  We've gone to watch him with the Varsity team, but he didn't get to play the day we were there.  So, when they were playing against Appalachee and we actually didn't have something else going on we made it to watch him.
Robby's the catcher!  He made a great out at 1st and 2nd during the game...I unfortunately don't have a picture of it because I was too busy watching!
Raleigh loved being with Lacy during the game and the way she was acting you would think she was 18 too.

I love this picture of Robby.  I just wish I had missed the fence on it.  :(

Raleigh of course loved cheering for Robby!

Easter Egg Hunt

We had our Sunday School Easter Egg Hunt at Chad and Mandy's house.  It was the perfect place for an egg hunt and for all the kids to run around and play!  I really thought Raleigh would run after the eggs more this year, but I was wrong.  She found some, but she wasn't eager to have the most or to find as many as she could.  Maybe she does have patience in some areas.  :)
Ready to go!
Just stolling along!
Finally...one egg!
Checking it all out!
I loved seeing Raleigh walk around with some of her friends!

Very typical Raleigh lately...hand on hip being prissy!  And she was trying to find the egg hidden in the tree.
Her loot...small, but plenty of candy!
The first piece of many for the day!
Several of the girls hanging out at the porch inhaling candy!

Our best attempt at a family photo, but Raleigh was having no part of it!

It's Here!!!!!

Finally after lining up outside the mall one morning and running to the store to only be greeted by 30+ people already in line and then ordering online to have a 4-5 week wait our ipad finally arrived!  I am so thrilled...I LOVE IT!!!  Now if I can just get Jason to stop playing Angry Birds.  :)

Taggie

I've been reading too many blogs on quilts lately.  I really want to learn to make quilts, but thought I could start a little smaller and make a gift at the same time.  I decided to make a taggie for my friend Alisa's baby shower.  Here's how I did it...
Choose and iron fabrics
 Cut out squares of fabrics
 Lay them all out...
 then arrange
Sew each square in the rows together
 Iron seams flat
 Then sew each row together
 Cut out backing and fleece
 Iron fleece onto backing
Sew ribbons on right side of top

Place right sides together, pin, and sew
Clip corners and seams if needed
Don't forget to leave a hole to pull it through
Pull through and iron.  Then sew around again in order to seal the opening.
 Finished Taggie!
I still have a long way to go, but I was thankful that it at least worked!  Next time I would definitely make the ribbons a little shorter.  :)

Spring Break 2011

Spring Break started off wonderfully, but was busy.

Friday night we began it with some friends coming over for game night.  We had a blast!

Then on Saturday morning Raleigh and I went to a baby shower and in the afternoon we had our guest come...Coo!  I'm thankful she took time out of her spring break to come visit us for a few days.

Sunday was a busy day with church and two birthday parties!  No nap for Raleigh=a very tired little girl!

On Monday Amanda & the twins, Crystal, her sister Carrie, Hannah, Lillian, Coo, Raleigh and I all went to the zoo.  It was fun, but very hot and crowded.  Raleigh missed a nap again and didn't want to ride in her stroller...this makes for a very tired mommy (and Raleigh).  For all that had gone on during the weekend and missing naps she only had one major meltdown and then after that she was HYPER (I think trying to keep herself awake!)  Her favorite part of the zoo was the meerkats (I guess it's appropriate since her school mascot will be the meerkats).  :)  My favorite part was seeing the elephant getting a bath...dirty, cute, and amazing!
Watching the elephant.  Right after this Raleigh got down and almost started crying.  She didn't want the elephant to get out.  :)

 All the kiddos!
The three big girls watching the flamingos.

Thankfully the rest of the week we didn't have any big plans.  We needed the rest!  Friday Jason took the day off so we had a nice family day.  Now I'm really ready for summer and having every day at home with Raleigh!

Come Pay!

Today Raleigh set up a store on our coffee table.  She had her calculators, wallet (with a little money she's collected from the grandparents), dominoes (that were treats for being good), playing cards, and a basket of small toys.  She'd wave to her imaginary "kids" that came to buy things and lay everything out just so.  It was too cute and a great use of her imagination.  The cutest/funniest thing she said to me was..."if you need a million dollars just ask me!"  I asked her, but she didn't come up with it.  :)
All set up...

Getting out the money for people to pay...I like this store!
This was my card I had to scan, the playing card was one I got to choose to take home, and the domino was my treat.
 Adding it all up!
 Lots of treats!

Spring is Here!

We've had some beautiful weather lately including some temps in the 80's.  Raleigh has loved being able to get out and play.  So much that she's waking up in the morning to tell us that it's light outside and she wants to go outside and play!  I'm glad she's loving the outdoors!
She's loved playing in her house with all her babies, tea sets, and anything else she may need.  Of course she has a visitor sometimes too!

We even had a visit from a woodpecker!
