Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we get together with my dad's family as we have for as long as I can remember.  I love the fact that even though my grandparents are no longer living that we still continue this tradition!  We had a wonderful time together with lots of great food, good conversation, and making memories.
Measuring Raleigh and Nathaniel...tradition with the cousins that are the same age.  Andrew (Nathaniel's dad is a few months older than me so we were measured at every Christmas).

 Bryson excited!
Raleigh realized at this point that her gift was something for Bella
 Nathaniel...train and bulldozer!

Raleigh with her highchair for Bella
Hmmmm...wonder where I get it from??

O Little Town of Bethlehem...

When I was little we would go with my grandparents to the live nativity in Bethlehem.  I can't remember if we would go every year or just some years.  I'm not sure why we stopped going, but I don't remember going after my grandparents moved from Bethlehem to Winder.  I do however remember loving it, wanting to be the angel that got to stand on top, and not enjoying the years that it was so cold we sat in the car to listen...I wanted to be out there!  This was something that I wanted to take Raleigh to and I think she enjoyed it, but it was a little cold and too long for her to stand there.  Luckily we had a blanket for her to sit on!
 Checking out the donkey
 The street signs in Bethlehem

The shepherds have the best part...standing next to the fire!

This is the star on top of the stable...this is there all year long
After the nativity we decided to drive up to Cedars Road to look for a house with all these lights.  We found it and it was great!  You can drive in their driveway and check them all out and the best part is it was free!
Raleigh kept calling this house the castle

More Friends!

Not only did I get to hang out with some friends from high school, but I also got to see my friends from college!  Raleigh and I traveled to Rome and met up with Amanda, Emma Kate, Coo, Lori, and Tucker at the old hangout...Las Palmas!  Lots of laughs, talks, and a great time as usual!
This is the only picture I got of Raleigh and Emma Kate this time!

Craft Week!

This started out as being craft day, but turned into craft week!  I enjoy it, but I don't like the mess that comes with some of it!
Making Salt Dough Ornaments!
 Adding flour...
 Salt...
 Mix...
 Add water...
 Roll out dough...
 Cut out...
 And bake!
 The finished product!
Making Rice Krispie Treats for Santa
Raleigh wouldn't help stir mine...she had to make her own!

 Handprint Ornaments

Our ornament for the year...Mickey and Minnie ears made out of bells with none other than princess ribbon!
Mommy Craft...Letter magnets for Raleigh's stocking!
I also made a crayon roll for Raleigh's stocking, but didn't get a picture of the finished product yet!
Whew...I'm worn out, but it was fun!!

Lunar Eclipse

I stayed up to see part of the lunar eclipse.  I tried to take some pictures of it, but the lens on my camera is not a good one for pictures of the moon...it's a little too far away!  Then I got tired and didn't want to keep going out in the cold, so I only got two pictures.  It was still neat!

Old Friends, New Friends

It's Christmas time which means getting together with friends!  Raleigh and I went to meet with some of my "old friends" for some catch up time.  Raleigh got to play with some "new friends" that will hopefully be "old friends" when she's my age!  Kelly, Amanda, Crystal and I all went to Dacula together.  We're actually all Dacula originals meaning that we started off there in Kindergarten (or First Grade) and graduated from there (some of our friends moved in or came from Dyer when we started middle school).  We were missing some friends because of new babies, sickness, and other things going on, but those of us that made it had a great time!  We've decided this has to be an annual thing just so we can get a yearly picture with all the kids!!
This is Ella Pierce.  She is Kelly's daughter.  Kelly and I were best friends in Kindergarten!  As soon as I got my camera out Ella Pierce sat down to pose for me...so cute!!
And Miss Ryleigh...Amanda's daughter!  Amanda and I have been best friends since we were 3, went to school together through college, and are still best friends!  I LOVE Ryleigh's eyes, so beautiful!
Raleigh playing with Hannah.  Hannah is my friend Crystal's oldest.  She is so sweet with the younger kids and just a sweet girl!  Crystal and I have been friends for a long time, but really got to know each other in 7th grade homeroom and we've been great friends since!
Lillian (Crystal's youngest), Avery (Amanda's son), and Hannah...Crystal is in the background!
This is Kelly and Ella Pierce!  Ella Pierce loved having her picture made...
She even smiled for her to take a picture of herself!
She was the only one who wanted to pose for pictures!  And how cute is she?!?!  She reminds me of Raleigh...a very healthy girl...love her legs!
Ryleigh and Avery...I think Avery had the wrong cup.  :)
So handsome!  I don't think he minded being the only boy with all the pretty girls either!
Hannah and Lillian playing in the tent...they both look like Crystal, but they look different.
So we thought that with 6 kids we should take a picture of all of them!  Let the adventure begin...
Take 1:  Avery trying to get down and Ryleigh falling into the crack...big girls doing a great job!
Take 2:  Avery's down, Ryleigh's still crying, and Raleigh has disappeared behind her hands
Take 3:  Just the girls...only Raleigh wouldn't cooperate!
Take 4:  Just the girls still...We did it!!!  Only a few bribes offered (ok, only to Raleigh to keep her hands down)!
Take 5:  Avery's back, but Ella Pierce has lost her cookie bribe!
Take 6:  Ella Pierce must get her cookie!!!!  Raleigh's gone!
Intermission ~ Avery get off her cookie...the girl needs it...
 NOW!!!  :)
In the meantime, Raleigh was tickling Lillian!  These two are only 10 days apart in age!  Hope they have as many laughs as Crystal and I have over the years!
Okay...intermission is over and they all have their cookie!  Happy campers!
Take 7:  All sitting still and somewhat looking towards a camera (at least one of the 4)!
What a cute bunch!  Looking forward to the next get together (maybe we can work it out before Christmas next year)!!
