End of Year Picnic

It's so hard to believe that another school year has come to a close.  Raleigh had a fabulous first grade year!  Ms. McBryde was the greatest teacher and so much fun.  Raleigh absolutely loved her and made some great friends this year.  She said she didn't want school to be over.  I'm so thankful she loves school!  We started off the day by cheering for Mrs. Stranahan as she walked (or ran) through the halls of Mulberry one final time with the kids and parents in the halls.  Then we had Raleigh's picnic and she limboed into second grade!  I can't believe that she'll be in second grade!  Time is flying by!

When I was cleaning out Raleigh's papers I found this paper that she had written about Ms. McBryde.  It was so sweet that I had to text it to her and she said it made her cry.  I'm really going to miss her being Raleigh's teacher next year!

Spring Party!

Raleigh had her spring party.  Each class set up an activity and the classes had a few minutes at each activity.  Our class had music and hula hoops to enjoy!  Raleigh was being silly and didn't want her picture made when she got to me, but by the dirt on her clothes I think she had a good time!

Field Day!

First grade field day was like Kindergarten with different centers set up and each class rotated around.  Of course Garner wanted in on the action and some places he could "help" out a little.  Tug of war and the parachute was definitely a favorite!

Stone Mountain Field Trip

Raleigh's class and first grade went to Stone Mountain for a field trip to learn about the Antebellum period.  They had a picnic lunch on the lawn and then got to listen to people tell about life during the 1800's in Georgia.  It was interesting to me, but the first graders not so much.  Their attention span just wasn't long enough for all the talking!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I took pictures at school for Raleigh's class.  Ms. McBryde had their picture made in this hat for their leprechaun story.  Such a cute little leprechaun!

Gwinnett County Tapestry Fine Arts Festival

Raleigh had artwork chosen to represent Mulberry in the Gwinnett County Tapestry Fine Arts Festival. The artwork was on display at the ISC building and she was awarded a certificate from Ms. Westcott.  She has really grown in her artwork this year and it is something that she loves.  I'm so thankful for wonderful teachers who encourage her to do her best.  We are proud of you, Raleigh!
