The Big 35!

Jason started off our birthday weekend! We went out to dinner on the 11th for his birthday since we had plans on his actual birthday. I wanted to make a cake for his birthday so I worked on it all day (between the cooking, making the icing, and actually icing the cake...my perfectionistic qualities slow me down on this). I needed to get it over to The Cleft (where we were having our Valentine's dinner on his actual birthday) before we met him for dinner so he wouldn't know. Luckily I got it all done and over there without him knowing anything. We had a wonderful dinner with his family at Carrabba's!
Friday, February 12...what did the forecast call for?? SNOW!!!! By the time I left school it had started snowing and was sticking to the ground, but not the road. Jason was able to leave work early due to the snow. As soon as he got home we opened his present...a frame that says "My heart belongs to daddy." He had already gotten his big present...a new laptop that won't shut down on him in the middle of working! After that we went to play in the snow!!! We had fun, got some great pictures, but Raleigh really didn't want to walk in it and definitely didn't like daddy throwing snowballs at her!

The snow was beginning to stick to the roads so I was a little worried about getting to The Cleft for our Valentine's Progressive Dinner...we had to get there...Jason's cake was there already! We started on our way and had to turn around on Harbins Rd. because of a bus that was stuck. Jason said that maybe we should just go home and not go. I told him no, let's get over there and just stay a short time then leave...I had to show him the cake! We made it with no problem, had a wonderful evening celebrating Valentine's Day with friends, and stayed longer than we planned (and actually the roads were better then). Due to the weather we didn't "progress" during our dinner, but had it at one house. It was all DELICIOUS!
Jason did not want his picture taken...we were singing to him!

Bye Bye Paci!

On Monday Raleigh gave up her paci! Of course this was not her choice, but I felt that it was time and thought I would try it during her nap. When she wanted it I told her we were going to give it to Avery. She said ok and cried a little bit, but then she went to sleep. I was so proud of her. That night she said, "my other paci in my bag" and I told her that she could give that one to Ryleigh. She was fine with that too. She did great that night and didn't cry at all! I know she misses it, but she's done wonderful without it. Of course she reminds me every morning that she gave her paci to Avery, Ryleigh, and Logan! If only potty training would be this easy! :)

Rolling, rolling, rolling

Raleigh had a runny nose one morning so Jason told her to go get some toilet paper (we're out of Kleenex) to blow her nose. She finally went to the bathroom. It was taking her a few minutes and I could hear the toilet paper roll moving. We told her that was enough and to come back. She's done this before and brought back just enough. Well, Jason was getting frustrated that she wasn't coming so I went to check on her and help her. This is what I found...
She really rolled out the whole roll and was so proud! All I could do was laugh and grab the camera. Jason however was not laughing! :)

Basketball

We went to watch my niece, Raleigh's cousin, Lacy play basketball. Lacy plays at Hebron Christian Academy. Raleigh was ready to watch Lacy play ball. It took her a while to warm up, but once she did she kept saying "Go Lacy!" She loves Lacy!!

Streusel Topped Banana Bread Cobbler

I must have been hungry when looking through my Southern Living magazine because I found the recipe for a Streusel Topped Banana Bread Cobbler and I had to make it. Of course we had to have the vanilla ice cream to top it off as soon as it came out of the oven. We usually don't have dessert with supper and I debated whether or not to fix this for Jason and I after Raleigh went to bed. I decided I could not do that to her since she loves her sweets as much as I do. So we made it and waited, and waited, and waited. The moment finally came when she could dig into her "zert" and all she ate was the ice cream! Well, Jason and I really enjoyed it and it was fun to watch Raleigh as she waited and got so excited.
Patiently waiting...
then checking in on her "zert"
Yummo! Of course mine doesn't look as pretty as the pictures in the magazine!

What better to do before bed...

Than to relax on the couch and watch some TV!
Yes, we need to say bye-bye to the paci, but I'm scared of fighting that battle...it will be a long night when we do!

More Presents!

Raleigh received a Christmas gift from Aunt Manda, Rando, Avery, and Ryleigh. She was so excited about opening it and as soon as she did she said, "oooh!" Could we have a golfer on our hands? We need to work on the form if we do! She loves playing with her "gubs" (clubs)!
